2018 Spring Competitive - PCSSL

What is the AYSO Region 64 Competitive program?

The AYSO Region 64 Competitive program is part of the Pacific Coast Spring Soccer League (PCSSL) and is for highly skilled players who would like to play at a more challenging level.

A Personal Note to parents - It is highly recommended that the kids make the decision themselves to join the Competitive program.  Kids who choose for themselves to tryout for the competitive program are more likely to work hard and succeed.  Players pushed by their parents often do not enjoy soccer and are pressured to succeed, are less likely to succeed and stay in soccer.

The Competitive program:
- Players are selected through tryouts.
- There are only one or two Competitive teams per age division in a region.
- Games are played on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Games are played outside of the region and require some travel.
- Practice days are based on coach and field availability (currently Monday / Wednesday / Friday).
- The league is competitive, geared towards advanced players.
- Parents strongly encouraged to volunteer as referees.

In addition to the Standard Registration fee and League fee, the Competitive team often has additional costs decided by the coach such as:Tournament fees - each tournament the Competitive team participates in will cost additional cost per player per tournament.

The number of tournaments the team participates in varies, and is dependent on the team’s interest.Premium Uniforms and Accessories - the Competitive team may opt to have premium uniforms, warm-up suits, player bags, and other accessories.  These options are decided at a team level by the coach. Team parties, snacks, gifts, and other miscellaneous items.
